Customer Owned Banking Sector Emerging Leaders

Throughout the customer owned banking sector is a community of vibrant, young, future leaders. Emerging leader events, and the online LinkedIn forum aim to connect young people across the sector, to help them develop, and to access networking opportunities.

2020 Emerging Leader Committee Nominations

There are two vacant positions on the Emerging Leader Committee in 2020. COBA member employees that have participated in the Emerging Leaders Stream at a COBA convention and meet other criteria outlined in Nomination Guide are encouraged to apply by Friday 24 January 2020.

The Emerging Leader Committee is made up of volunteers from organisations within the customer owned banking sector.

The Committee plans and organises events and activities throughout the year, particularly the Emerging Leaders sessions at the sector’s annual COBA convention. Applicants should be able to demonstrate organisational and planning skills. Event management skills are not essential but encouraged.

The Emerging Leader Committee is a great way to develop leadership skills and gain exposure to senior leaders across the customer owned banking sector.

There will be seven members on the Committee in 2020, including COBA staff member Natalie Latham, who sits on the Committee as Chairperson. Applicants will need to be available to attend a planning day on Friday 13 March 2020 in Melbourne.

Bridges COBA Emerging Leader Award

• Each year emerging leaders from the sector can apply for the Bridges COBA Emerging Leader Award, valued at $10,000 which is announced at the annual Convention. Details relating to the award are available from the COBA Member Portal.
