How the world of credit unions is supporting Ukraine

The Customer Owned Banking Association, through its membership of the World Council of Credit Unions, is supporting the people of Ukraine in these difficult times.

The Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions (WFCU) has launched a new fundraising effort in support of Ukrainian credit unions impacted by the current military conflict in the Eastern European nation.

The Ukrainian Credit Union Displacement Fund has been established by WFCU to help to mitigate both short- and long-term impacts to Ukraine’s credit union system and those who look to it for support, including both employees and members.

WFCU will disburse much needed funding to the Podolsk Regional Development Agency (PARD), a Ukrainian non-governmental organization that is providing humanitarian assistance to hundreds of refugees from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mariupol, Kherson, Melitopol and other cities who are seeking refuge in the Vinnytsia region of western Ukraine.

PARD will use the funds to purchase and deliver food, water, medicine, bedding, and other supplies to internally displaced Ukrainians. An estimated 3 million Ukrainians have fled their homes, making immediate humanitarian relief a priority in the region.

Support Ukraine’s credit unions by donating to WFCU’s Ukrainian Credit Union Displacement Fund.
